Australia’s Skills and Training Ministers have released the nation’s first National Skills Plan. It is a shared vision for the VET system and will guide the work of all governments to deliver on the outcomes and priorities in the National Skills Agreement. It will also provide direction for industry, employers and the VET sector to help align efforts so that we are all working towards the same shared goals.

The National Skills Plan is framed around eight key priorities:

  • Gender equality
  • Closing the Gap
  • Supporting the net zero transformation
  • Sustaining essential care services             
  • Developing australia’s sovereign capabilIty and food security     
  • Ensuring Australia’s digital and technology capability      
  • Delivering housing supply           
  • Delivering reforms to improve the regulation of vet qualifications add quality
