Shearing and Wool Classing Project

Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time and expertise throughout this project. The national qualifications, skill sets, and units for shearers, wool handlers, and wool classers have been reviewed to consider all feedback, so they align with the evolving skills needs of these job roles.

The project is in the finalisation stages but there is still time to respond to the teach-out survey and provide letters of support. The opportunity to participate in the survey and provide letters of support will close on 28 October 2024.

The final draft units of competency, skill set and qualifications are undergoing proofreading, anti-discrimination assessment and quality checks. Following this, they will be sent to the Senior Responsible Officers for their consideration before submission to the Assurance Body.

Livestock Operations Project

This project has reviewed the Certificate III in Feedlot Operations and 70 units of competency that support the skills of the livestock industry. Through extensive stakeholder consultation, the qualification and units have been updated to align with current technology and practices so that learners are equipped with the skills required to work safely and effectively with and around livestock.

Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time and expertise. The final draft units of competency and qualification are undergoing proofreading, anti-discrimination assessment and quality checks. Following this, they will be sent to the Senior Responsible Officers for their consideration before submission to the Assurance Body.
