Ag Trade Apprenticeship: Concept Project

This project continues the work to explore a potential ag trade apprenticeship, following from the Ag Trade Feasibility Report. This project entails the first stages of development of a Certificate III qualification which could be used to deliver apprenticeships across a range of agriculture occupations. Work will be carried out in line with the new training package product templates, serving as a demonstration of how an apprenticeship qualification could be structured. Further work will be required following this project to test the concept.

Attraction and Retention Strategies

Skills Insight will research and consult with stakeholders throughout this project to investigate attraction and retention strategies for the agribusiness, fishing, forestry, food, animal and environment care industries in regional, rural and remote areas. The team will research current programs and policies that demonstrate successful approaches to attraction and retention. Findings from this work will be used to develop a best practice guide suitable for use by employers across different locations, sizes and industries. At the end of the project, the guide will be freely available on the Skills Insight website.

Employer Best Practice Guidance for Apprenticeships in Furnishings

Apprenticeship and traineeship completion rates are a concern in many industries, including the furnishing industry. From our conversations with stakeholders, we know that many employers experience barriers to providing the full range of support required to support completion, especially as a new generation enters the workforce and new learning models are implemented. To empower employers in their role to support trainees and apprentices, this project is underway to develop a best-practice guide in consultation with stakeholders. The resulting guidance will be freely available to stakeholders.

FurnishingWorks, a part of ForestWorks, is providing support for the management of this project as part of our collaborative partnership.
