Two projects are underway for the agriculture, horticulture, conservation and ecosystem management industry to consult on how we can improve skills and training.

The AHC Improvements and Agricultural Trade Pathways projects have moved into the development stage, meaning there will soon be further opportunities for you to be involved.

AHC Improvements Project: Register for an online information session

Over the past few years, the Agriculture, Horticulture, Conservation and Land Management (AHC) Training Package has been undergoing strategic revisions to keep it in line with industry skills needs. Reviews have been made based on unit sector, rather than qualification to improve efficiency and minimise disruptions.

As a result, several qualifications and skill sets need to be updated to incorporate units of competency that have been developed or revised in recent projects, including several work health and safety and environmental care related units.

Those with an interest in the qualifications being updated are encouraged to register for an online information session to learn more about the updates and how to provide feedback.

Agricultural Trade Apprenticeship Pathway Project: Workshops Coming Soon

Consultation is taking place throughout this project to research the feasibility and viability of an agricultural trade apprenticeship pathway to encourage new entrants to the industry.

A steering committee has been put together to guide the research, including employers, industry bodies, unions and other relevant parties.

Work is underway to organise a series of workshops around the country to gather insights about a potential agriculture trade pathway. Dates and registration details will be available in the coming weeks.

There will be further opportunities to provide input if you cannot make these sessions.
