Feedback sought on additional units & skill sets for Window Furnishings & Shade Sails Project 

Thank you to everyone who provided feedback on the draft Certificate III in Blinds, Awnings, Security Screens, and Grilles, and relevant units of competency, between 

25 June to 28 July 2025. 

Your input indicated the need for further revisions and the need to develop additional documents, including: 

• three new skill sets to support the roles of furnishing manufacturing supervisor, exterior shading screen installer, and shading screen sales
• three new units for skills to repair shading screens, install curtains and assemble venetian blinds.
• revisions to three units that were previously deleted
• revisions to six units that have been suggested to be included in the qualification and skill sets.

As a result, another round of Broad Consultation is required. The additional skill sets and units, along with the revised qualification and units are now available for your review and comment.
