Skills Insight has recently contributed to several important national consultations, supporting the voices of our stakeholders to be heard in policy and decision-making. Submissions incorporate the relevant feedback you’ve shared with us and insights in our Workforce Plan.

Productivity Commission inquiries

As part of the Productivity Commission’s Five pillars of productivity inquiries, Skills Insight provided a formal submission on 15 September 2025. Our submission focused on the importance of better decision-making for VET, particularly as decisions impact regional, rural and remote Australia and priority cohorts. The importance of access to training, support for critical occupations, emphasis on worker and industry safety, elevating First Nations leadership, and challenges with cross-border VET delivery, were among the issues discussed.

Industry skills leadership submissions

In line with our role to represent stakeholder perspectives on skills challenges and opportunities, we also made submissions to the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry’s National Food Security Strategy and the Climate Change Authority Annual Progress Report.

Work is also underway on submissions to the Australian Apprenticeship Priority List Process, Jobs and Skills Australia’s (JSA) Regional, Rural and Remote Roadmap, and the JSA Legislative Review.
