Based on recommendations from the National Farmers Federation and Agricultural Workforce Working Group, Skills Insight is progressing work to investigate and establish an agricultural apprenticeship pathway. This project follows on from our recent project to explore the feasibility of an ag trade apprenticeship, and the current project to map agricultural career pathways.
Consultation to date has revealed support for the apprenticeship model among industry participants for its potential to offer a structured pathway for learners to develop skills on the job. For employers and the broader industry, it offers a valuable way to attract, develop and retain the next generation of skilled workers, strengthening the future workforce.
As part of this project, Skills Insight will consult with stakeholders to identify the required evidence to support the development and implementation of a trade-level qualification.
