Jobs and Skills Australia (JSA) is undertaking consultation on the 2025 Core Skills Occupations List (CSOL), which identifies occupations to be included under the employer-sponsored temporary Skills in Demand visa as part of the national migration strategy.
Skills Insight has identified the occupations identified in the CSOL that relate to the industries we work with, which includes 49 of the 278 occupations on the draft list, as listed below. We appreciate time is limited and encourage you to contribute whatever feedback you can within JSA’s consultation window, from 25 August to Friday 26 September 2025.
Your feedback will inform decision making around Australia’s skilled migration program for 2025.
Feedback is being collected via the following methods:
- targeted surveys for businesses and employers, workers and jobseekers, and organisations
- written submissions with updated guidelines and timelines
- bilateral meetings with the JSA Executive (places are limited).
JSA are particularly interested in labour market insights and perspectives about new and revised skilled occupations in OSCA.
A note about CSOL eligibility
To be eligible for inclusion in the CSOL, occupations must be of an OSCA Skill Level between 1 and 3. JSA also considers whether an occupation is in shortage on the Occupation Shortage List and if there is evidence migration is an appropriate path to address occupational shortages.
