The Department of Employment and Workplace Relations has recently published the VET Workforce Blueprint, identifying opportunities to grow, retain and develop the VET Workforce across Australia.

To support this release, the Australian Government, in collaboration with states and territories, has announced an initial suite of foundational national actions, which include:

  • occupational mapping for the VET workforce
  • a VET workforce data strategy
  • an ongoing research program for key workforce issues
  • mapping and analysing compliance and administrative burden to inform strategies to reduce this burden.

In our role as a JSC, Skills Insight is commencing consultations to contribute to the goals of the blueprint, working with VET stakeholders involved with the agribusiness, fibre, furnishing, food, animal and environment care industries.

The blueprint and supporting information, such as a national roadmap for the workforce’s long-term sustainability and the JSA VET Workforce Study, are available on the DEWR website
