This project will undertake a Skills Review of Certificate II qualifications within the AHC Agriculture, Horticulture and Conservation and Land Management Training Package that support entry into the agriculture, forestry and fishing industries. Through research and national consultation with industry stakeholders, the review will examine qualification structures, areas of overlap, gaps and pathways. The findings will provide an evidence base to inform future training product decisions, alignment with workforce needs and Qualification Reform objectives.
Project scope
This project will examine how Certificate II qualifications within the training package are structured and applied in practice. Through industry consultation and evidence gathering, the review will identify opportunities to better align training products with workforce needs and strengthen pathways into the sector.

Consultation approach
A subject matter expert working group will be established to provide technical input throughout the project. Stakeholders will be engaged nationally through workshops, interviews, site visits, written feedback and other methods. Feedback will inform the consultation thematic analysis, the final Skills Review and any recommendations for future activity.
Next steps
The next significant opportunity for public consultation is expected during the research and engagement phase from October to December 2026. The interim Skills Review is expected to be published for stakeholder feedback in mid 2027.
