The next Workforce Plan is currently under development and will be available for stakeholder review and comment at the end of March. 

Your feedback will be used to inform revisions, before the Workforce Plan is submitted to the Department of Employment and Workforce Relations (DEWR) at the end of April.

The Workforce Plan describes industry identified workforce challenges and skill opportunities and paves the way for the Department’s approval of projects to explore how to address them.

The 2024 version builds on the September 2023 Workforce Plan, including:

  • newly released data, including from the Australian Government White Paper on Jobs and Opportunities and Skills Priority List occupations
  • significant industry events or trends that have emerged 
  • feedback from stakeholders on the highlighted workforce planning priorities
  • key issues that may be the subject of further research/activities.
