Draft materials for two meat industry training product development projects will be available for review in September, with consultation workshops now open for registration. 

Your input will help ensure the materials reflect current industry needs and support a the workforce ready for the future.

Meat Processing Pathways Project 

Work is underway to revise Certificate III meat processing qualifications, with draft materials available for review and comment from early September. 

Employers, workers, trainers, students, associations and unions are encouraged to participate and provide feedback.

Retail Butchery and Smallgoods Project

Consultation workshops are now open for registration for the Retail Butchery and Smallgoods Project, with draft materials expected to be available for review and comment from early September.

The drafts are informed by a recently completed Workforce Functional Analysis (WFA), which drew on national workforce and training data and extensive industry consultation. The report identified opportunities to modernise qualifications and strengthen skills in areas including customer communication, product knowledge, food safety and business operations.
