Skills Insight is undertaking a review of racing and breeding industry skills needs to build a holistic understanding of the underpinning skills, knowledge and regulatory requirements that define current job roles and their alignment to qualifications.
Insights from industry stakeholders will directly inform this work and any subsequent revision of qualifications for trackwork riders, jockeys and horse breeders. These qualifications have been identified as priorities for update to better reflect contemporary work practices, address safety requirements and support training pathways.
Recommendations for future work on the RGR Racing and Breeding Training Package will also be made based on the findings of the project.
