The Workforce Functional Analysis (WFA) report for the Retail Butchery and Smallgoods Project is now available. Drawing on national workforce and training data and extensive industry consultation, it provides the evidence base for reviewing and updating training package products.
Analysis identified ongoing shortages of skilled, trade-qualified workers. It highlighted opportunities to modernise qualifications by reducing duplication, streamlining assessment requirements and strengthening skills in areas such as customer communication, food safety and business operations.
A Technical Committee has been established to guide the next phase of work, which involves drafting revisions to training products informed by the report’s findings.
