    This sector-focused consultation webinar will bring together employers, workers and training providers from the upholstery and furniture industries to explore workforce challenges and opportunities for sewing machinists.

    The session will examine current workforce demand, barriers to attracting new entrants, existing training pathways and opportunities to strengthen industry capability through coordinated workforce development initiatives. Participants will contribute feedback on practical solutions to support the future sewing machinist workforce across furnishing and upholstery sectors.

    AMP Stage 3 – Meat Processing Pathways Broad Consultation – Online

    The Meat Processing Pathways project is reviewing several AMP Training Package Certificate III Meat Processing qualifications, Skill Sets and units of competency to ensure these training products meet current and future industry needs.

    Initial drafts of training products will be available during September – October 2026 for broad consultation feedback. Industry stakeholders including associations, unions, employers, workers, trainers and students are invited to provide insights on current and emerging workforce needs, and feedback on the draft products. The information gathered will be used to inform the second drafts of the training products.
